the long warred: Wow…there is a great deal of wisdom here, born of having been tested in and survived a crucible of fire. I can’t say I grok all of it (e.g., the “Inside and Outside” part), but I get most of it.

I’m not military, but I think I understand war, to the extent that such an irrational endeavor can be understood. I definitely understand defensive war; all defense is moral. I do NOT understand aggression for the purpose of conquering people, acquiring territory by force, or interfering with the lives and other property of others simply because you can. Might does NOT make right. Nevertheless, it is utterly naive to expect, just because you respect others’ right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, that they will reciprocate.

For that reason, I understand the concept of “peace through strength”. And I equally understand that a crucial element of strength is not inviting your enemies (those who hate you, and would kill you if you let them) to subjugate you, and destroy you.

What that means is that it may be the case that pre-emptive aggression is defense, without which you may find yourself in a later position wherein you have been outmaneuvered and outnumbered by an enemy who feigns a love of peace only as a means to weaken you while he prepares for war. History is replete with examples.

Thank you,

This our 🇺🇸problem now, although we face it openly at last… at least we speak the word enemy aloud.

This ends the feign maneuver.

We have no enemies abroad. Just opponents.
